Exacta Group Golf Day Returns to Support Grief Encounter

Local technology business Exacta Group is once again set to host its annual charity golf day this September, raising vital funds for Grief Encounter, supporting bereaved children and young people across the region.

Taking place on Tuesday 8th September 2026 at The Manor House Golf Club in Castle Combe, the event brings together businesses, clients, and supporters from across the South West for a day of golf, networking, and fundraising.

Now a firm fixture in the regional business calendar, the event has grown significantly over recent years. With the support of partners, clients, and sponsors, Exacta Group has raised over £77,000 for Grief Encounter in the past four years alone. Nick Rogers, Chair and Founder of Exacta Group, has been a long-standing supporter of the charity and its work. His personal connection to the cause underlines the importance of the support being raised.

Nick said “It’s March 1983. I came home from school to be told my mum had passed away. In that moment, everything changes, yet there was very little support available to help children process grief. Looking back, it’s hard to imagine any child navigating something so overwhelming without guidance. That’s why the work of Grief Encounter is so important. They provide understanding, structure, and safe spaces where children and young people can begin to make sense of loss.”

Grief Encounter delivers specialist support services to children and families experiencing grief, helping to ensure that no child has to face loss alone. The funds raised through initiatives such as the Exacta Group Golf Day play a crucial role in enabling the charity to continue its work.

The charity golf day itself promises a full programme of activity. Guests will enjoy breakfast on arrival, followed by 18 holes on one of the UK’s most picturesque golf courses. The day also includes competitions, prizes, breakfast, a three-course dinner, and a charity auction, along with goody bags for all participants.

Nick added, “At Exacta Group, we’re incredibly proud to support a charity making such a meaningful difference. Our golf day is not only a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, but also to raise essential funds for children and families who need support during the most difficult times.”

This year’s event is expected to be another sell-out. Chelsea Harding, Head of Fundraising at Grief Encounter comments, “Grief Encounter cannot thank Nick, Exacta Group and its team enough for their continued support. Their fundraising has a big impact on the charity’s ability to deliver its services”.

Businesses interested in taking part are encouraged to register quickly to avoid disappointment and be part of a day that combines sport, networking, and meaningful impact. To register, please visit our website GriefEncounter.org.uk or e-mail
