Kingfisher Place receive a Bronze Award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme

After signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2025, Kingfisher Place Financial Planning have received recognition from the Ministry of Defence for their support to the Armed Forces Community.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a promise from the nation ensuring that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families, are treated fairly and with respect.
Matt Corke, Director of Kingfisher Place, joined the Army Reserves in 2019 and took a series of sabbaticals from his previous role to deploy with them overseas; he continues to serve in a part-time capacity, alongside running the business. He said:
“I’m really grateful to receive the Bronze Award and have our pledge recognised in this way. The purpose of our business is really being there to support others, and the Armed Forces Community is a group really close to my heart and one where I’ve seen a lot of the hardships that servicepersons and their families can suffer first-hand.”
“While the business supports a huge range of clients, quite a number are either serving or have served previously or are the widows or family members of those who have served- tailoring our services to support them better is a top priority for us as a business.”
Organisations are able to write bespoke pledges under the Armed Forces Covenant based on their business and the services they offer, to ensure barriers to employment or accessing those services are reduced for serving personnel, veterans, Reservists, and their families. For example, in offering paid leave for Reserve personnel, or in offering career support to employees required to move as a result of a serving spouse’s role.
