After graduating with a National Diploma in Fishery Science, I’ve spent my whole professional career alongside the industries leading fishery consultant. We travelled the country helping lake owners release the full potential of their wetland assets and avoid the common disasters.
I launched ‘BP Milling’ in 2014 at the keen age of 20, business grew fast and quickly attracted the attention of ‘Enterprising Wiltshire’ winning the award for ‘Wiltshire’s Young Entrepreneur’.
BP Milling manufactures and supplies UK fishery businesses with sustainable aquafeed alternatives. Founded during a carp farming journey which led to water quality disasters at home on the family farm near Calne. From that day on, I was on a mission to develop a fish feed alternative which would benefit my water quality and support the wider aquatic environment.
I invested in milling machinery to make my own plant-based feeds. I quickly proved that my formulations had an ammonia contribution 5 times lower than the market leading feeds. I’ve not had a water quality issue since. Fast forward 10 years, the business has supplied these plant based fish feed formulations to 1000+ UK fishery businesses, accumulating 1000+ verified customer reviews averaging 4.9/5 stars!
Other products include a garlic feed additive we developed as a natural remedy to repel common freshwater fish parasites. An incredible product that has been so successful that it’s been endorsed by the Environment Agency.
In 2024 it was brought to my attention that it was my last opportunity to be eligible for the ‘Young Entrepreneur Award’ category at ‘The Wiltshire Life Awards’. Never again would I be labelled ‘Young’ so I applied. I shared the top prize with another outstanding young business owner.
Other ventures include Kingfisher Wetlands Ltd. which is a wetland management company offering ground care services, habitat creation and maintenance of aquatic environments.
An exciting new branch of BP Milling are preparing to launch late 2025 called ‘The Fishery FastLane’. A free educational hub for fishery owners to learn from tutorial videos and podcasts with industry professionals.
