I’m Kath and I LOVE NUMBERS – putting all of them together like jigsaw pieces to see the full picture of your business. I’ve always wanted to be an accountant – no career changes or different tacks which means I now have over 35 years of experience across practice and industry to share and use in supporting my clients.
I focus on giving joy and peace of mind back to business owners – yes, I can do the compliance stuff but I also work with established businesses (over 2 years of trading and who have employees) who have an accountant that files all the year end returns but realise they need more regular hands on support.
This typically looks like:
1) Ensuring the book keeping is rock solid – I either do it myself or work with the in house book keeper
2) Preparing month end management reports and presenting and discussing these with the business owners – this is the exciting bit – how is the business doing – what needs to stop/be improved and what opportunities do we need to make the most of NOW
3) Preparing budgets and cashflows – sometimes for bank/loan financing – usually to help business owners know whether they can invest – a new employee or a new piece of equipment
4) Training and mentoring on cloud accountant platforms – making sure business owners are making the most of their monthly subscriptions and the book keeping function is as efficient as possible
5) Access to me – all clients have regular slots that they can book in blocks or ad hoc so they know they can check/chat/ask as required.
Our typical client?
1) Established and are facing the expectation gap of thinking their appointed accountant was going to be more hands on/have more time or them/be accessible/be proactive
2) Feeling overwhelmed or out of their depth with the numbers – business owners have a joy and passion for what they do – it doesn’t mean they are finance experts
3) Want to get it right –they appreciate the comfort and confidence in having a Full Fat Accountant by their side
4) Appreciate there is an investment to get from surviving to thriving but it’s worth it
