Katie Older Lighting Design is a Bristol-based lighting consultancy specialising in the design, specification and delivery of bespoke lighting schemes for residential, commercial and landscape projects.
I bring over 13 years of experience within the lighting industry, spanning both independent design practices and lighting manufacturers. This breadth of experience offers clients a well-rounded, practical approach — balancing creative vision with technical knowledge and real-world application.
My design sensibility is shaped by an interdisciplinary background in footwear design and interior design, fostering a deep understanding of form, materiality and how people interact with space.
This foundation informs a thoughtful, detail-driven approach to lighting that enhances architecture while supporting comfort, wellbeing and everyday use. With wellness at the core of every project, each scheme is developed to support human experience — considering mood, activity and atmosphere to create lighting that feels intuitive, functional and refined.
Collaboration is central to the studio’s ethos, with a strong focus on building lasting relationships with clients, architects, interior designers and contractors to deliver cohesive, well-resolved outcomes.
