I’m Sarah, founder and interior designer at Studio Mayfield, an interior design studio specialising in thoughtful renovations of period homes.
I work with homeowners who want to create a home that feels considered, characterful and personal to them, while respecting the architecture and history of the property. My approach combines the practical side of renovation with a strong focus on atmosphere, natural materials, earthy colour palettes and the details that make a home feel as though it has evolved over time rather than been designed all at once.
Studio Mayfield offers interior design for renovations, from the early stages of space planning and developing the overall design direction through to kitchens, bathrooms, lighting, joinery, finishes, furniture and final styling. I work closely with clients and their wider project team to bring all of those decisions together into one cohesive vision.
I’m particularly passionate about helping clients navigate the sheer number of decisions involved in renovating a home. Rather than simply making things look beautiful, my role is to give clients clarity and confidence throughout the process, making sure the practical decisions being made along the way support the way they want their home to look, feel and function.
For me, the best interiors don’t feel overly designed or driven by trends. They feel completely at home in their surroundings and completely personal to the people who live there.
