I’m Jason Hyde, a former self-employed builder and National 3 rugby player.
I love all sports but particularly rugby and golf. I also completed the London Marathon this year (2023) for Sue Ryder, and I’m always looking for the next challenge to help raise money for local charities. This year its for Emily’s Gift – a golf day and my annual Big Christmas Quiz.
I am a family man with a wonderful wife and two amazing daughters, and Scruffy the dog. They are the reason i do what i do now, along with our beautiful son who plays above the clouds in heaven. He is my inspiration.
I wanted to leave the building trade and my 70 hours a week business after losing our son, breaking my neck in a rugby scrum, and being given 24 hours to live after catching meningitis. Life really was put into perspective, and working silly hours was not part of that.
We had been a UW customer for 4 years prior to this, and so we decided to look at the business model because we knew how good they were as a company.
Skip forward 13 years, and we have built a wonderful business with this amazing company. I’ve been retired from the building trade for 8 years now and work around 20 hours a week, giving me time to do the school runs be at their sports days and holidays whenever we choose.
It’s been a life-changing event to our circumstances, and now I am a company trainer helping others to achieve the same goals just by helping their friends and family save money and get the best costs on their essential home utility bills. It honestly is a win-win.
The future looks very bright and will be very exciting for anyone wanting to join UW and build their own business with us.
This is a team effort and you will always get that support.
